Wiki-a-thon Supporting BIPOC Scientists

October 6, 2022
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Join us for an afternoon of creating and editing pages for BIPOC Scientists and Technologists! Wikipedia overwhelmingly recognizes the achievements of white people. This wiki-a-thon works to reverse this trend, highlighting the often overlooked accomplishments of BIPOC leaders in science and technology, and ensuring that the new generation can see role models who look like them.

When: Thursday, October 6th from 2-5pm

Where: Zoom (link will be mailed out within 2 weeks of submission of this form) and also in the B-280 space at the Genomics Institute (upstairs at the Westside Research Park campus- snacks will be provided!)

No experience contributing to Wikipedia? No problem! There will be a short training on how to contribute at 2pm. Training will also be provided on demand throughout the afternoon.

Can’t come for the whole afternoon? No worries! Just come for whatever time works for you and your schedule.
