A federated ecosystem for sharing genomic, clinical data
Early data-sharing efforts have led to improved variant interpretation and development of treatments for rare diseases and some cancer types (1–3). However, such benefits will only be available to the general population if researchers and clinicians can access and make comparisons across data from millions of individuals. Timing and causes of mid-Holocene mammoth extinction on St. Paul Island, Alaska
Abstract: Relict woolly mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) populations survived on several small Beringian islands for thousands of years after mainland populations went extinct. Here we present multiproxy paleoenvironmental records to investigate the timing, causes, and consequences of mammoth disappearance from St. Paul Island, Alaska. Five independent indicators of extinction show that mammoths survived on St. Paul…

IGF2BP3 Modulates the Interaction of Invasion-Associated Transcripts with RISC.
Abstract: Insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA binding protein 3 (IGF2BP3) expression correlates with malignancy, but its role(s) in pathogenesis remains enigmatic. We interrogated the IGF2BP3-RNA interaction network in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) cells. Using a combination of genome-wide approaches, we have identified 164 direct mRNA targets of IGF2BP3. These transcripts encode proteins enriched for functions…
